Team Australia at the plate: Luke Hughes knocked out two hits, including a run-scoring triple in the third. Chris Snelling also drove home a run with a third-inning single.

White Sox at the plate: Brandon Allen had four hits and two RBIs and Josh Fields three hits and two RBIs, as Allen continues to impress with the bat during Spring Training. Gordon Beckham and Alexei Ramirez chipped in two hits each, with Ramirez driving home two.

Team Australia on the mound: Paul Mildren started and didn't allow a run in one scoreless frame. He gave up one hit and didn't strike out or walk a White Sox hitter. Australia used nine pitchers in total.

White Sox on the mound: Aside from Jon Link, who gave up two runs in two innings, the White Sox used nothing but Minor League pitchers who were not part of big league camp in this exhibition. Wes Whisler and Brian Omogrosso were the most impressive, with both hurlers fanning four over two scoreless innings.

Up next: The White Sox make their first visit to Surprise, a far shorter journey than it used to be coming from Tucson, to take on the Rangers at 2:05 p.m. CT on Saturday. Clayton Richard makes his third start of the spring, with Vicente Padilla on the mound for Texas. Team Australia takes on Mexico in World Baseball Classic competition on Sunday.
